MixDB Privacy Policy

MixDB (“the App”) is an open-source application for cataloguing and organizing DJ mixes and related media.

We take privacy seriously. MixDB is designed to operate entirely on-device, without collecting or transmitting your personal information to any MixDB-operated servers.

Overview

• MixDB does not require an account
• MixDB does not run any backend service
• MixDB does not collect analytics or telemetry
• MixDB does not sell or share personal data
• All library data remains under your control

Data Collection

MixDB does not collect, transmit, or store personal data on external servers.

Specifically:

• No user accounts
• No advertising identifiers
• No analytics or tracking
• No telemetry or behavioral monitoring
• No data collection by the developers

MixDB has no server component, and the authors do not receive your data.

Local Storage

All data created or managed by MixDB is stored locally on your device.

This may include:

• Your library database and metadata
• Imported mix URLs and playlists
• Downloaded audio or video files (if enabled)
• Application settings and preferences
• Cache files required for app functionality

This data remains private to your device unless you choose to export or sync it.

Cloud Sync (Optional)

MixDB may offer optional cloud synchronization using a storage provider that you configure, such as:

• Google Drive
• Amazon S3 or S3-compatible providers
• Other storage providers that may be supported in the future

When cloud sync is enabled:

• Data is transferred directly between your device and your chosen provider
• MixDB does not operate any servers involved in this process
• MixDB does not receive, store, or process your synced data

MixDB accesses only the files required to synchronize your library.

Credentials

Any credentials, authentication tokens, or API keys used for cloud sync:

• Are stored securely in your device’s system keychain
• Remain under your control
• Are never transmitted to MixDB or its developers

Third-Party Services

MixDB may interact with third-party services such as YouTube or SoundCloud in order to fetch metadata or access content URLs that you provide.

Your interactions with these services are governed by their respective privacy policies and terms.

MixDB does not share personal data with these services. Only the information necessary to perform your requested action (such as a URL you import) may be sent directly from your device to the third-party service.

Data Sharing

MixDB does not sell, rent, or share your personal information.

The App does not:

• Include advertising SDKs
• Include third-party analytics tools
• Track you across apps or websites

Any data you choose to sync or download is handled entirely under your control.

Permissions

MixDB may request device permissions only as needed for core functionality, such as:

• File access (to store or import media)
• Network access (to fetch metadata or sync to your provider)
• Keychain access (to securely store cloud credentials)

MixDB does not access unrelated personal information such as contacts, location, or messages.

Children’s Privacy

MixDB is not directed toward children under the age of 13, and the App does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time.

Any updates will be posted with a revised “Last updated” date. Continued use of MixDB after changes means you accept the updated policy.
