MixDB — Terms of Service

MixDB (“the App”) is an open-source application for cataloguing, organizing, and optionally syncing DJ mixes and related library metadata across devices.
By downloading, installing, or using MixDB, you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the App.
Open Source License
MixDB is provided as open-source software under its applicable license.
These Terms do not replace or override the open-source license. If there is any conflict, the license terms will control.
Use of the App
You may use MixDB only for lawful purposes.
You are solely responsible for:
- The content you download, store, import, sync, or play
- Ensuring you have the necessary rights or permissions
- Compliance with copyright law
- Compliance with any third-party platform terms (such as YouTube)
MixDB does not provide media content and does not authorize unlawful copying or redistribution.
No Service Component / No Hosted Platform
MixDB is a standalone, on-device application.
- MixDB does not operate any hosted service or backend
- MixDB does not require an account with the project
- No user data is transmitted to MixDB, its authors, or contributors
- All processing occurs locally on your device
Cloud Sync and Third-Party Providers
MixDB may allow you to enable optional synchronization using storage providers that you configure, such as:
- Amazon S3 or S3-compatible storage
- Google Drive
- Other user-selected providers that may be supported in the future
When cloud sync is enabled:
- Data is transferred directly between your device and your chosen provider
- MixDB does not proxy, store, or receive your synced data
- Any credentials, tokens, or API keys remain under your control and are stored only on your device
You understand and agree that:
- Cloud services are provided entirely by third parties
- MixDB is not responsible for outages, data loss, breaches, pricing changes, or service interruptions caused by those providers
- Your use of any provider is governed by that provider’s own terms and privacy policies
You are responsible for securing your cloud accounts and configurations.
Data Responsibility
MixDB may store library data locally and, if enabled, sync it to your chosen provider.
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining backups
- Confirming sync behavior meets your expectations
- Any third-party storage or bandwidth costs
- Protecting access to your cloud credentials
No Affiliation
MixDB is an independent open-source project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Apple, Google, Amazon, YouTube, or any other third party.
All trademarks belong to their respective owners.
Disclaimer of Warranties
MixDB is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to:
- Merchantability
- Fitness for a particular purpose
- Non-infringement
- Availability, reliability, or accuracy
- Security or error-free operation
You use the App at your own risk.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event shall the authors, contributors, or copyright holders be liable for any claim, damages, or other liability arising from:
- Use of or inability to use the App
- Loss or corruption of data
- Misconfiguration of cloud sync
- Third-party provider failures or interruptions
- Unauthorized access to your cloud accounts or storage
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
No Support or Maintenance
MixDB is provided on a volunteer and community basis.
There is no guarantee of:
- Support
- Maintenance
- Updates
- Bug fixes
- Continued feature availability
Privacy
MixDB does not collect, transmit, or store user data on any MixDB-operated servers.
If you enable cloud sync, data is handled solely between your device and your selected provider, subject to that provider’s policies.
Termination
You may stop using MixDB at any time by uninstalling the App and disabling any sync connections you have configured.
The authors may modify or discontinue the App at any time without obligation.
Changes to These Terms
These Terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of MixDB after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

Summary
MixDB is open-source software provided without warranties or guaranteed support. All data stays on your device unless you choose to sync it directly to your own cloud provider. You remain responsible for lawful use, your content, and any third-party services you connect.
